1 John 5:14 ESV  reads: “And this is the confidence that we have toward him, that if we ask anything according to his will he hears us.”

When praying, we shouldn’t feel afraid to share with God our most inner feelings especially when we feel sinful, unworthy, and/or have just did something we know is wrong.

Confidence is not our first thought especially just after doing something wrong, but yet we are left with this beautiful message from Rom. 8:32, along with 2 Cor. 5:21. This portion of scripture, like a summary, lets us know that God didn’t spare Jesus—His own Son—in regard to our sinful, unregenerate condition, but gave Him up to be sin for us. Us, the very ones who put Him on the cross! And why?

Can we with our mortal minds wrap ourselves around that thought for awhile, and “understand” the depth of God’s love? Not really, but by faith, and for all eternity  “we shall come to understand it better, by and by.”

I can’t explain such love, but God tells us His reason: that you and I might become righteous in Christ. That’s totally awesome, giving the whole human race an opportunity of hope, joy, and reason to celebrate a glorious salvation!

My prayer for this Christ filled season, when we are giving and receiving gifts, is that we will all send a thank you prayer to Jesus for His great love towards us, and for His gift of life that we have been given.

If you haven’t yet received God’s great gift of love, the gift of Jesus, then ask to receive Him now. And when you ask for Jesus, to heal your life with His, you can rest assured that He especially hears, for He always answers this prayer. He is always waiting with His open, and inviting arms to hear from you!
