For people with types 1 and 2 diabetes, regular insulin injections may soon be a thing of the past.

Dr. Sam Shum, a 1981 graduate of Union College, has spent more than 15 years working on a better solution. He and his research team believe they’ve found one, and they’ve recently received FDA approval to market an inhalable insulin.
