Tis the season when we turn our thoughts toward home, family, and of course, LOVE.

Matthew 6:21 NLT — “Wherever your treasure is, there the desires of your heart will also be” refers to what is most important in our lives, and involves commitment of our time in those areas.

Acts 20:35b NLT — “It is more blessed to give than to receive” is similar, but involves our attitude, and motivation during sacrificial times. The times when our giving is selfless, and contagious.

A true sacrifice will captivate us, for all the right reasons, and not just because it feels right or because “everyone else is doing it.”

As Christians we are called to be real, care and share our love each time these moments of conscience awareness presents themselves, and we actually perceive them. I’m sure we all can remember a time of a missed opportunity that once again reminds us of how short life really is.

Let’s not allow these precious opportunities to pass us by—let’s live in the moment, for life is short, and there’s no guarantee that any past opportunity will present itself again.

Hebrews 13:16 NLT — “And don’t forget to do good and to share with those in need. These are the sacrifices that please God.”
