I love to walk in the winter time! I am able to keep my exercise regimen and maintain my health. It took awhile for me to be able to walk in the cold weather. I was sort of scared of walking in the cold and not sure if I could do it. But I was determined to keep my walking program and be in good health.
I started slowly by walking 10 -15 minutes at a time. I would do this 2-3 times per day. I wanted to make sure that I was moving and not being sedentary because of the cold or snow. I had to make sure that I had layers of clothes on and was bundled up.
In addition, if it had snowed, I would walk on the area that was plowed to make sure that I did not slip and fall on ice. Purchasing a nice pair of boots can really help with the traction when you walk. I would like to encourage you to get outside and get moving in the winter!
