After 29 years of dedicated ministry to the Kansas-Nebraska Conference, John Treolo—likely the longest-serving communication director in the North American Division—is moving on to pursue other career opportunities.
Treolo graduated from Pacific Union College with a BS in public relations and began his career in 1979 as the public relations director for Christian Record Services for the Blind, located in Lincoln, Nebraska. Since 1987, Treolo has served the Kansas-Nebraska Conference as director of Communication, Community Services, Adult Church Ministries, and the conference’s Men’s Retreat. His areas of specialty include audio recording, video production and photography.
Dr. Martin Weber, who worked with Treolo for six years, said, “While communication director of the Mid-America Union, it was my joy to witness and benefit from the work of my dear brother, John Treolo. His broad range of skills is matched only by his willing and faithful spirit.”
Treolo’s ministry has been appreciated beyond the Mid-America region. Dan Weber, North American Division communication director, said, “I have always appreciated John’s commitment to the field of communication, and growing his own personal skills. He was a regular attendee of our Society of Adventist Communicators Conventions as he strived to serve the church with his full potential. John could always be counted on to offer a helping hand or encouraging word. His positive attitude is something every communicator should endeavor to emulate. I want to personally thank him for his dedication, devotion and commitment to the Seventh-day Adventist Church.”
In reflecting on his years of service, Treolo said, “I have so enjoyed serving this denomination for nearly 37 years in communication. I have been blessed working with so many wonderful leaders, pastors, teachers and members. Thank you for allowing me to be a part of advancing God’s work at Christian Record Services and in the Kansas-Nebraska Conference territory!”
