The Hope of Survivors, a nonprofit organization founded in 2002, will be relocating to Bedford, Iowa after the acquisition of what has been known for years as The Bedford Inn. The organization will be using the property as its world headquarters and a place of healing and renewal for victims of clergy sexual abuse, primarily adult females.
Founders and directors, Pastor Steve and Samantha Nelson, will reside at the property. Steve is the pastor of the local Seventh-day Adventist Church in Bedford, while his wife Samantha manages The Hope of Survivors.
Voted a Top-Rated Nonprofit in 2011, 2012, and 2013 by GreatNonprofits, The Hope of Survivors is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to helping victims of clergy sexual abuse and misconduct, as well as providing educational and informational materials and seminars to pastors and churches worldwide.
