Over 80 top-notch student musicians representing nine schools in Mid-America came together Jan. 30-Feb. 2 in Lincoln, Nebraska to participate in the 60th Annual Mid-America Union Music Festival.
Hosted jointly by Union College and the Mid-America Union Conference, the festival drew a sizable crowd for the concluding Saturday evening performance. Six senior academies from a nine-state area were represented, along with two junior academies and a local high school. Home schooled students were also encouraged to participate.
The focus of this annual festival alternates between vocal and instrumental performances. This year’s event under the direction of Cynthia Stokes, chair of the Division of Fine Arts at Union College, featured instrumental selections. Various Union College musical groups performed during a Friday evening concert. Both concerts were webcast live and will be archived at uclive.ucollege.edu.
