Brittany Winkfield, communication director for the Central States Conference and the editor/publisher of Back2Basics magazine, took home the Young Professional of the Year award given at the annual Society of Adventist Communicators Convention held Oct. 13-15 this year in Denver, Colorado. Nominations for the award are evaluated based on the nominee’s portfolio, work experience, skills, character, creativity and productivity. Nominees must be under 35 years of age.

Thank you to Brenda Dickerson and the SAC organization for the nomination and award. The support from my husband, mother and extended family has been the most invaluable gift. To my fellow young professionals, I want to encourage you to follow your dream and don’t give up. God’s plan for your life is perfect.”
Winkfield graduated from Oakwood University with a bachelor’s in communication and concentrations in print and photojournalism. Positions she has held include marketing and events coordinator for the Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce, and events coordinator for the Chamber of Commerce in Huntsville, Alabama. She was also an office assistant for Upscale magazine in Atlanta, Georgia.
As the founder and publisher of B2B, Winkfield is responsible for defining the mission of the magazine and ensuring its success. She describes herself as a “motivated visionary” who mixes her layout and design skills with social media marketing, website management, photography and strategic planning to coordinate multiple projects.
Brittany has been married to Marcus Winkfield since 2009. The couple has three young daughters.
