I am going to put this idea out to you not because I have arrived, actually I have only thought of this in the last few years and still I have made very little progress toward my goal.
Do you think God is always with us? His presence never diminishes? If you think this and I do, is it possible to enjoy unceasing communion with him? I have not found this to be easy for me, I am not even close. The question is, is it possible?
Think of it, what if our daily communion never stopped? Would it be possible to live minute by minute in the presence of God? It sounds easy, but just this morning I intended to think of Jesus often and well, I forgot.
Frank Laubach, born in 1884 was a remarkable man. He was a missionary, teaching the illiterate. At the age of 45 he resolved to live in continuous inner conversation with God and in perfect responsiveness to His will.
He started in January 1930, and journal-ed his results. I am going to give you his first note: January 26, 1930; I am feeling God in each movement, by an act of will–willing that He shall direct these fingers that now strike this typewriter–willing that He shall pour through my steps as I walk.
I am stopping here for now and I have two reasons–I want you to ponder with me what it would be like to be in the presence of Jesus all the time. Second I don’t like to read long blogs and I’m thinking you don’t either so until next time, think about Jesus and being in perfect communion with HIM.
