There is a lot of freedom as we grow deeper in God. Life and circumstances no longer define our lives. We find our life and meaning in terms of our relationship with God instead of our relationships with others. Our identity comes from our connectedness with God and not from who or what enters our lives at any certain time during our days.
When God’s Spirit fills us, what happens outside of us doesn’t make as much difference because grace has already won in whatever event we encounter. How we feel each day isn’t dependent on how we are treated. When God gives us the grace to be happy without outside approval–and when that happiness is rooted and grounded in our connection with Him–we can experience a new and unprecedented freedom.
