Sometimes a single picture can say more about God than an entire book. If you are anything like me, you often feel a deep personal connection to God when taking in the great natural scenes He created. I think this is because, through nature, God speaks in a language that anyone can understand, giving us humans an unprecedented look at who He is and what He is like. In other words, we can’t see Him, but we can see what He has done and that speaks volumes. As I was putting this post together, I couldn’t help but wonder what a perfect, unmarred Eden would have looked like. I also found that there are times when a storm is just as beautiful as a sunset!
Below I’ve compiled a roundup of soul-stirring photos that will take you from the Rocky Mountains in Colorado, to Yellowstone National Park, the lakes of Minnesota, the rivers of Missouri, the plains of Nebraska, the fields of Iowa and Kansas and and come in for a landing at the formations of the Black Hills and Badlands of North and South Dakota. I have to confess, I was a bit surprised that a few of these states were so photogenic (and maybe you will be too).
The photography enthusiasts out there will realize that many of these photos use a technique called HDR (high dynamic range) and yes, some of these photos are a little over-processed but I included them anyway if I liked the particular effect.
I’d love to hear your comments on the photos, how God reveals himself in nature, photography or anything else you feel like talking about so be sure to chime in at the end of the post if you have something to say.
As always, if you enjoy this post, please be sure to share it with your friends through email, Twitter and Facebook ( handy buttons at the beginning and end of the post).
