Yucabeth Oyaro

Oyara 2Camp allows me to put the demands of society aside and enjoy the beautiful work of God. It’s so easy to be distracted with superficial luxuries of life, living in day to day routine, and never really comprehending the work of God.

Every year I attend North Star Camp with my Pathfinder club. Going camping is always exciting; it leaves me with lessons that mature my spiritual life. There are so many memories that are created at camp and so many stories to tell, but what really makes me come back to camp are the treasured moments I get to spend with God out in the open air truly hearing His voice.

Camp has changed me in various ways by improving my communications skills. I’ve also become more aware of the beauty that is around me and have learned to appreciate God’s creations. But most important is my relationship with God and how He has become so real to me. You really can’t deny the existence of God when His fingerprint is everywhere, and North Star Camp has really opened my eyes and my heart to really knowing who God is.
